What’s Good About The Kettler Match 5.0?
Kettler is a German manufacturer that offers a wide variety of products ranging from fitness machines, bicycles, patio furniture, and even children’s toys. While they’re not specifically dedicated to table tennis tables, the craftsmanship and quality of their tables are superb. The Kettler Match 5.0 Table Tennis Table is Kettler’s introductory indoor table which offers a 3/4″ playing top that is certified with “true bounce” similar to professional ping pong tables. Wrapped around the tabletop is an 1″ aluminum apron that protects the wooden side and corners while keeping the table from warping.
The lines on the table are done quite well which are completely even with the surface of the table. Speaking of the surface, Kettler tables use an unique water-based paint that is UV, scratch and fade resistant while allowing perfect ball spins and speeds. Although square legs are ideal for strength, the Match 5.0 has steel round legs that are up to par with ISO 9002 manufacturing standards and are synthetically powder coated and galvanized to prevent scratches and possible corrosion from unfriendly weather conditions.
When folded, the swiveling 4.5″ wheels make moving and turning the table around simple enough for 1 adult to maneuver. It’s low center of gravity and dual locking features make this table children safe in storage and out. This is a good table for a good price!

First, let me start by saying there are no bad reviews of this table once assembled. I cannot say the same for the assembling process which took several customers more than 4 hours and several afternoons to complete. One customer called it a “nightmare”. Good news is that Kettler realized that their instructions were lacking and have created not only a better, detailed instructions manual, they’re also made a video for your viewing pleasures!
Beside the massive complaints online about assembly instructions, the table itself is brilliant.
